Less than one month on Facebook and I'm totally hooked! My initial response to all of this social networking stuff was "that's for the youngsters....my nieces and nephews are on that, why would I get on?"
Then, some of my girlfriends mentioned they were on Facebook so I gave it a try. Turns out, it's a pretty cool thing. It's not much help in the way of productivity, but it's pretty fun.
I've been able to stay connected with my current circle of friends in between our monthly "meeting of the moms", reconnect with High School friends just in time for our 20th reunion and reconnect with someone I never thought I would, an ex boyfriend. It's been fun to be able to check on everyone's status, chat and poke fun at old picture we've posted.
However, one word of caution. Facebook can be addictive. If you find you want to check out where you long lost friends and loves are, check it out! Then, maybe there will be a social networking addict support group!!!
Enjoy!

Back to Life. Back to Reality.
Ok, so the holidays are FINALLY over and done with. Now, back to reality. Wait! I think I would prefer the hustle and bustle of the holidays over reality.
My schedule this first week back to school, back to a semi normal schedule has been nothing but run run run! Here's the low down on my meeting schedule this week. Keep in mind all of these happen after 5:30pm in the evening so I can spend approximately 45 minutes with my family:
Monday -Girl Scout Service Unit
Tuesday - School Board District Task Force
Wednesday - rehearsal for Praise Band at church (OK, that one's not so bad)
Thursday - PTA meeting
Friday - nothing yet, but I'm sure something will pop up.
Seriously, why do we do this to ourselves??? I've said no to lots of things last year but the schedule always seems to fill up and usually all the same week, too.
Unfortunately, I know it won't get much better either. Lila will begin after school practices and activities again soon and will add more each year, I'm sure.
There may be something to be said for those individuals who had children young. It's not because they have the energy to keep up with everything. It's that they will still be young when the kids leave the nest and the schedule can be ALL theirs!
Gotta run. There's a meeting calling me! ;-)
